90 Day Fiancé's Julia Trubkina Reveals What Went Wrong During Her Son's Birth

Julia Trubkina endured 20+ hours of labor, last-minute surgery, and a terrifying moment under general anesthesia.

Brandon Gibbs and Julia Trubkina welcomed their first baby boy on March 11, but the arrival came after a labor and delivery Julia described as the scariest experience of her life. The couple announced the news while revealing that Julia's 20-plus-hour labor ended in last-minute surgery. There was a moment where Julia wasn't sure she'd survive it.

Julia and Brandon first appeared on Season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé, where their storyline was defined almost entirely by Brandon's parents and the family farm in rural Virginia. The two met through a mutual friend who was vacationing in Russia and introduced them after meeting Julia at a club where she worked as a dancer. Viewers watched Julia navigate life on the farm under the thumb of Brandon's overbearing mother. His mom once objected to the couple being naked in their own hot tub. They went on to appear in Happily Ever After?, 90 Day Diaries, and 90 Day: The Last Resort.

Julia revealed that during the surgery, doctors had to place her under general anesthesia after her body reacted badly to the epidural. She said her body started suffocating, and in that moment she thought "it was over — that I wouldn't wake up again."

Brandon described the day as one that "terrified us both, completely dividing our lives into 'before' and 'after.'" For a couple whose entire arc on the show was about growing up and building independence from his parents.

The baby was born in October, with the couple choosing to announce publicly on March 11 alongside details about the delivery.

The couple hasn't yet shared their son's name publicly.
